1. Agreement to Terms
Welcome to Shoo Lab. By accessing our website, using our services, or placing an order with us, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.
These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and customers of Shoo Lab's cleaning and restoration services for footwear, bags, helmets, and other personal items.
2. Service Nature & Outcome Disclaimer
Shoo Lab provides professional cleaning and care services using methods appropriate to the service selected. Due to the nature, age, material condition, construction, prior repairs, or pre-existing wear of items submitted, outcomes may vary and are not guaranteed.
3. Our Services
Shoo Lab provides cleaning and care services for:
- Shoes and sneakers (all materials including leather, suede, canvas, mesh)
- Bags and handbags
- Helmets
- Hats and caps
- Other personal accessories as offered
Service availability, pricing, and turnaround times may vary by location and item type. Current pricing is available at our outlets or on our website.
4. Customer Responsibilities
When using our services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate contact information for order updates and pickup notifications
- Disclose any known defects, damage, or special conditions of your items at drop-off
- Remove all personal belongings from items before drop-off (we are not responsible for items left inside)
- Collect your items within 30 days of receiving the ready-for-pickup notification
- Inspect your items upon pickup and report any concerns immediately
5. Pre-Existing Condition Acknowledgement
Customers acknowledge that items may have pre-existing defects, deterioration, stains, colour bleeding, material fatigue, or structural weaknesses that may not be visible prior to servicing. Shoo Lab shall not be responsible for issues arising from such pre-existing conditions.
Before processing, we assess each item's condition and document it with photographs. By dropping off your items, you acknowledge that:
- Some stains, discoloration, or damage may be permanent and cannot be fully removed
- Older items, items with worn materials, or items with manufacturing defects may react unpredictably to cleaning
- Colors may fade or change, especially on aged or sun-damaged materials
- Glue, stitching, or structural components that are already weakened may deteriorate further during cleaning
- We will inform you of any concerns before proceeding with high-risk items when possible
6. No Guarantee of Restoration
Cleaning services aim to improve cleanliness and appearance but do not guarantee full stain removal, restoration, or a "like-new" condition. Results depend on the item's original condition, material type, age, and other factors beyond our control.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Shoo Lab shall not be liable for any loss, damage, discolouration, shrinkage, material change, or deterioration resulting from the cleaning process where such outcomes are related to the item's condition, material characteristics, or inherent service risks.
By using our services, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Maximum Liability: Our liability for any damage, loss, or dissatisfaction is limited to a maximum of 5 times the service fee paid for that specific item, or the fair market value of the item (whichever is lower), not exceeding BND 500 per item.
- No Liability for Pre-existing Conditions: We are not liable for damage resulting from pre-existing wear, manufacturing defects, improper previous repairs, or material degradation.
- High-Value Items: For items valued over BND 500, we recommend declaring the value at drop-off. Additional coverage may be available upon request.
- Sentimental Value: We do not compensate for sentimental, emotional, or collector value.
- Consequential Damages: We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from our services.
8. Claims & Disputes
If you believe your item has been damaged during our service:
- Report the issue immediately upon pickup or within 48 hours of collection
- Provide photos and a detailed description of the concern
- Do not attempt to repair or alter the item, as this may void any claim
- Our team will investigate and respond within 7 business days
- Resolution may include re-cleaning, repair, partial refund, or compensation within the limits stated above
Claims made after 48 hours from pickup, or for items that have been worn or used after collection, may not be eligible for compensation.
9. Uncollected Items
Items not collected within 90 days of the ready-for-pickup notification will be considered abandoned. Shoo Lab reserves the right to dispose of, donate, or sell abandoned items to recover storage costs. We will make reasonable attempts to contact you before taking such action.
10. Pricing & Payment
- Prices are quoted in Brunei Dollars (BND) and are subject to change without notice
- Payment is required upon pickup unless otherwise arranged
- We accept cash, bank transfer, and approved digital payment methods
- Promotional discounts and loyalty rewards are subject to specific terms and may not be combined
- Refunds are processed at our discretion and typically returned via the original payment method
11. Intellectual Property
All content on our website, including logos, images, text, and graphics, is the property of Shoo Lab and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without written permission.
12. User Accounts
If you create an account with us, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and all activities under it. You must provide accurate information and notify us immediately of any unauthorized access. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
13. Acceptance of Terms
By placing an order, customers confirm that they understand the nature and limitations of the service and agree to Shoo Lab's Terms & Conditions as published on the official website.
14. Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where you receive our services:
- Brunei: Governed by the laws of Brunei Darussalam
- Malaysia: Governed by the laws of Malaysia
Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in the respective region where services were provided.
